We had hundreds of applicants from across the United States apply for this semester’s Deputy’s Scholarship for Women in Technology. Students studying at Harvard, Washington State, Brown, Yale, Auburn, Berea, University of Maine, Forsyth Technology College and many others jumped at this scholarship opportunity. Reading all of the applications really shows that women are making a name for themselves in technology. We read so many incredible stories and about so many  accomplishments, which made this decision difficult.

Out of all of the applicants, we are happy to announce the Fall 2017 winner of the Deputy Women in Technology Scholarship — Rosaly Salcedo. Rosaly is in school to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management and Technology and a Minor in Global Enterprise and Technology at Syracuse University.

On top of being a full-time student, Rosaly is the first generation in her family to earn a Bachelor’s Degree. She is also the president of IT Girls United, an organization of all backgrounds and generations originating in the School of Information Studies.
