Deputy’s Bi-Annual Scholarship for Women in Technology
Another round of applicants have submitted impressive applications for the chance of winning the Deputy’s Women in Technology scholarship. Schools all over the nation have been represented. These include Illinois Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, Winona State University, University of Maryland, Kansas State University, Georgia Tech and so many more.
We are glad to announce the Spring 2018 winner of the Deputy Women in Technology Scholarship – Tova Jones. She is currently attending Florida Polytechnic University. She is working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering along with a Minor in Nanotechnology.
Tova has been overcoming challenges her entire life. She was born with a birth defect called, Tetralogy of Fallot, has had numerous heart surgeries, and overcame it all. This drove her to become a female engineer and use that education to benefit others. Her goal is to revolutionize prosthetics to help wounded war veterans live a better quality of life.
“I am going to help advance the field of prosthesis and provide the men and women who protect and keep us alive with cutting-edge prosthetics so that they can continue to live their lives as they would have before their priceless sacrifice.”
