Deputy Volunteer Day in Atlanta – Easter Seals

One of the first questions that I asked when interviewing for my role at Deputy was “Do we have a volunteer program?” As Deputy Americas is still in startup mode, I got the “no” response I expected, but my eyes lit up and I knew part of my philanthropic duty was to make sure we had one in place. Fortunately, Deputy’s leadership team was as excited as I was about implementing a program and in a couple of months, we had our first Deputy volunteer day in the United States.

The Deputy US team volunteered at the local Easter Seals North Georgia, the international charitable organization devoted to providing opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. As our first company Mantra in the Deputy Americas office is to “build strong relationships,” giving our time to the local community as Easter Seals classroom assistants for children was an invaluable experience. We were split into several different groups and placed in a room with a certain age ranges.

Many of the children came running to us with hugs, asking all sorts of adorable questions. The conversations we shared with these beautiful children will certainly be remembered – even down to their favorite princesses and toy cars. This was also a great way for us to build relationships with our co-workers by spending time in a different environment. I can confidently say that our team bonded as a whole and we built strong relationships with all of the kids, teachers and the organizers as well. Overall, it was such a rewarding experience, and we hope that our time impacted each and every one of these children in a positive way. I recommend having your organization look into volunteering your time to the Easter Seals.
