We took a few minutes to chat with Rebecca about how she came across Deputy and why she recommended it:
Rebecca first came across Deputy five years ago, while working as an employee in a Nike retail store, and now uses it to manage a team of 150 employees across 8 locations as part of the AF1 Nike Sydney group.
“Deputy is a lifesaver for rostering,” says Rebecca. “Without it, literally half my work would be writing rosters. During a busy time like boxing day when I need about 80 staff members on, it would take me a week just to write up one day.”
With a mix of casual, part-time and full time employees all with different shift requirements and restrictions, the Deputy App enables her to keep track of all of this information in one place, by tracking hours worked, managing everyone’s availabilities, and staying on top of wage costing.
“The app displays everything for you, you have full visibility,” says Rebecca. “Whether you need to add lunch breaks or paid breaks right up to if you have rostered the hours are evenly – it’s just so easy to manage.”
Being able to empower her employees to manage their own availability and communicate through the app is also a winning feature for Rebecca.
“My team find it really easy to use – if they have an exam or holiday coming up they can quickly jump in the app and add it to their unavailability. As an employee, they don’t have to worry about sending off a formal email, while as a manager I don’t have to be reading through hundreds of emails and trying to remember who said what.”

For Rebecca, recommending Deputy to a friend struggling to manage their rosters was a no brainer.
