The Deputy partner team has recently returned from Melbourne where Xerocon 2017 was held, I have one word to describe it – EPIC.

The team at Deputy value their relationship with Xero and our partnership has gone from strength to strength over the years along with our product integration. So it was with excitement that we headed off to meet the 3000+ attendees to talk shop over the 2 day event.

If you weren’t there this year and are wondering what you missed, there are a few post Xerocon blogs circulating that will bring you up to speed. However, I will share some of the exciting aspects of what made it such a great event for us.

First up, we held our first ever Deputy Partner event alongside ServiceM8 at which we did a fast & furious recap of the year in review and recognised best new emerging partner – Carbon Group and partner of the year – Time & People for 2017.

Here they express a few words on receiving the awards:

Carbon – “Carbon Business Systems partnered with Deputy to provide rostering and scheduling tools to business of all sizes, whether there is 2 or 200 staff. We have found Deputy to be affordable and easy to use, and allows the SMB market to have enterprise grade software at such a affordable cost. We aim to completely reduce the need for paper when rostering staff, and start giving managers and owners their time back, as well as deeper insights into efficiency around scheduling.”

Time & People – “I was so pleased to receive Deputy Partner of the year 2017 for Time & People. Deputy has made it very easy to satisfy our customers over the past 5 years, as it is such an awesome product. Every month another feature comes out taking Deputy to the next level, making it even easier for customers to select Deputy over the competition. It is no wonder Deputy now exceeds 40,000 customers globally.”

It was then time to immerse ourselves in Xerocon, and what an epic event it was. From the opening keynote with Rod Drury, inclusive of a DJ and laser lights (no-one could blame me for thinking I had stepped into a dance party by mistake) through to the closing block party it was a non stop fun packed and educational event.

Of course it wouldn’t be Xerocon for us without a delicious food giveaway from one of Deputy and Xero’s joint customers. This year we asked N2 Gelato to join us and make special ‘shakes’ for us, so they made 3 delicious flavours which were super popular with attendees.

A definite highlight for us was being nominated as a finalist for App of the year alongside, Receipt Bank, Fathom and Figured. We congratulate all finalists on being recognised and applaud Figured in taking out the top slot this year – well done.

So that wraps up our take on the event, if you didn’t get across the many new announcements from Xero you can do that here and if you are just experiencing the Xerocon blues you can reminisce for a few minutes with our Xerocon photo montage below.

See you all at Xerocon in Brisvegas next year Xeroconites.
