More Flexible Payment Options

At Deputy we’ve listened to our customers and we want to keep making sure that our product is as flexible and unique as the businesses we work with. We are excited to announce that from 1st May 2017, in addition to our monthly payment option, customers on Premium and Enterprise plans will have the option to make their payments annually.

For any new customers who sign up to a trial after 1st May 2017 and wish to make their payments monthly, there will be a slight change in pricing across our Starter and Premium plans. As we haven’t reviewed our pricing in five years and want to ensure that our prices continue to reflect the ever increasing value our solutions provide, we will be making the following changes to our monthly payment option:

Existing Customers: no change to monthly plans

For all our existing customers who prefer to pay monthly – this option isn’t going anywhere! For any existing customers – or anyone that begins their trial before 1st May 2017 - there will be no change to your monthly payments. Whether continuing to pay monthly or opting for annual payments, the cost per user will remain the same as you have always paid. As always, there will be no additional fees involved with switching over. If you would prefer to move to annual payments (or adjust your plan) the change can easily be made from your account settings. Any overlap in your billing will be credited pro-rata to your account so there’s no risk of double payment.

Feedback from our conversations with customers has been loud and clear: an annual pricing option would be a great advantage for many businesses. Being able to make one, annual payment will enable our customers on Premium and Enterprise plans to access Deputy in the way that makes the most sense for their business. Launching 1 May 2017 our Annual Pricing options for Premium will be:

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this change impact existing customers?
No, existing customers will stay on their current month-to-month plan unless they elect to change to Annual Pricing.

When / will prices change for existing customers?
At the moment we have no plans to change pricing for existing customers.

Why are your monthly prices increasing for Premium?
After reviewing our pricing structure we decided to change our prices to better reflect the value we believe Deputy brings to the market. This is our first price review in 5 years, and we believe that our new monthly plan pricing, as well as the additional of an annual plan option provide the most flexibility and value for our customers.

How can i switch to annual pricing?
You can change your plan at any time through your Account Settings.

What if I downgrade / cancel my plan - will i still be able to access the current prices?
No, only existing customers are eligible for our old pricing plans. New / returning customers will be on our new pricing.

Do I have to use annual pricing?
No, our monthly plans will continue to be accessible - you can choose what's right for your business.

Can prices be adjusted if I need to remove users after making my annual payment?
No, once you have selected an amount of employees and moved to an Annual Plan then the number of employees cannot be downgraded.

Is the annual payment available for the starter plan?
No, currently we are not offering Annual Pricing on our Starter or Flexi plans.

When will this change go in to effect?
The new pricing will go into effect for trialers who create a trial account starting on May 1st. Current customers or those trials that were created prior to May 1st will not be impacted.

What if I'm on an annual plan and I increase the number of employees I have?
Deputy will never limit the amount of employees you can add to your plan. Any employees above those prepaid in your annual plan will be charged at the Monthly Rate. There is also always the option of increasing the amount of employees in your annual plan - the difference will be charged after you upgrade

What if I paid for an annual plan and wish to change back to monthly before 12 months pass?
Due to the whole year being paid for, you will need to wait until that paid year passes for you to effectively change back to a monthly plan.

I have multiple current Deputy accounts on old pricing, if I create a new one, which pricing would apply?
The newly created account will take on the new pricing plan as long as the trial account was created after May 1st.

I have multiple current Deputy accounts, can I have them on different payment plans (annual/monthly)?
The pricing plans apply for each Deputy account, as long as they are setup as separate businesses in Deputy, they can each be on different plans (annual/monthly).

If I refer another business to use Deputy, which pricing plan should I mention to them?
If they create the trial account after May 1st, the new pricing plan will be applied to their account, if prior to this date, then the old pricing plan will be applied.

I started me trial before May 1 - what prices will I pay?
All clients who started their trials before 1 May 2017 will be on our legacy pricing plans. Of course, Annual Pricing will still be available to you if that suits your business better.

I signed up to a trial before 1 May 2017 and I want to reset my trial: what pricing plan will i be on?
If you reset your trial then you be on the updated pricing plans.
