The Story
Jo Williams has a disability that stops her from being able to care for herself. A team of private caregivers comes in daily to help give her the independence she needs to live on her own. “My health goes up and down a lot. I’m not sure when I’ll be feeling bad and when I’ll be feeling OK again, so it’s important I’m able to get the help I need when I need it.” Needless to say, being able to use a platform that helps Jo receive the help she needs is invaluable and she needs to be able to put her full trust into the system.

The Challenge
Before using Deputy, Jo was using another software platform for scheduling her caregivers. She currently employs eleven different caregivers and noticed she was paying more than what she would prefer. While cost was an issue, Jo was also looking for a platform that she could depend on.
“When you’re sick, getting work done is really difficult,” says Jo, “Even if I feel terrible, I still need to use the platform. Every shift needs to be filled. If no one shows up to help, then I won’t be able to eat or take basic care of myself. Having a system that’s easy to use is crucial for someone in my situation.” Along with that, she’s living between two different apartments at the moment which can cause confusion for her caregivers if they were to ever show up at the wrong one.

The Solution
After doing some research on different platforms, Jo eventually came across Deputy and decided to give it a try. Her trial went so well, she left her old software platform behind and chose to switch over to Deputy. One of the biggest selling points for her was, with her eleven caregivers, she would end up saving money using Deputy. She loved how easy it was for her caregivers to offer shifts to someone else if they needed to call out sick. And with the News Feed feature, she was able to communicate with all of her caregivers with ease and update them with any relevant information.
Not only that, but the locations feature made it easy for her to coordinate with her caregivers and give a clear indication of which apartment they’re supposed to show up to along with when. This guarantees there is never any confusion that leaves her without the care she needs. “I used to worry that my caregiver would show up to the wrong house but with Deputy’s location feature, it’s easy for me to let my caregivers know exactly where they need to be.”
What sold her the most on the Deputy platform was its ease of use. She was able to quickly and easily make three months worth of employee schedules and loves how intuitive it is. “Whenever I feel very ill, I don’t have to worry about using a difficult platform that can cause stress and other headaches. I feel comfortable knowing Deputy is simple to use and won’t give me any worries whenever I’m feeling ill.”
