At the request of many Deputy customers, we have implemented a Pay Rates type which matches the basic overtime rule for hourly paid workers which prevail in most US industries and workplaces.
The US Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires overtime pay at a rate no less than 1.5x for any hours over 40 in a given week. We have made it very easy to apply this rule to any employee, so that the wage costs you see when scheduling, and in reports, are 100% accurate.
For new customers (in the USA) this will be the default Pay Rate type. Existing customers can update their Pay Rates as follows:
Simply select any employee, edit their profile, scroll down to Pay Rates, and select from the dropdown menu “Hourly (40h + 1.5x Overtime)”
